Have you tried moving on with someone else, but cannot escape what you feel even in your own imagination?
The way someone else smiles,
The way someone else looks at you,
The way someone else listens when you speak,
The way someone else embraces you,
The sound of someone else's laughter,
The sound of someone else's voice,
Even the taste of food when you're with someone else...
O Lord, that You would save me from the sadness that takes over when the sun goes down. O, that You would stretch out Your hand to embrace me whenever I reach for someone else. Look upon me as I weep bitterly for the loss of someone I used to know. Forget me not, dear Lord, for they cannot replace you, for none of them are like You...
And the Lord said to me:
"I will show My love to you, My wife, again, though you were loved by another man and an adulteress. I love you, though you turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes. So I bought you for fifteen shekels of silver and about a homer and a lethek of barley. I've said to you that you are to live with Me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I will behave the same way toward you."
Hosea 3:1-3
He was a stranger to me.
I never knew him.
And yet I still love him.
How do you love someone who no longer is?
I can see his face on mine whenever I glance at a mirror.
What does his voice sound like?
I remember it was soft.
I remember he was stern and serious.
I remember he was mostly silent, so I never did speak too.
Distant.
The pain of his absence still lingers and,
In those moments when I remain silent, we speak.
"You have a beautiful smile," they tell me.
I know.
I can see his face on mine whenever I glance at a mirror.
He was a stranger to me.
I never knew him.
But oh, how much I still love him.
And the Lord said to me:
"I Am a Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
in My holy dwelling.
I shall set you, the lonely, in a family,
I shall lead out the prisoners with singing..."
Psalm 68:5-6
Oh, that I may remember your embrace on my troubled nights,
That I may remember your soul and your beating heart.
What shall I do?
For love has awakened before it's time.
When you called for me, I refused to come.
When I searched for you, I could find you no longer.
Shall I see you again, my love?
Shall we walk the paths of our garden in each other's company again?
Alas, I now walk alone.
But I do remember time past,
when it was much simpler:
You were Adam, and I was Eve...
(Based on Song of Solomon 2 & 3)
And the Lord said to me:
"Praise Me, the God and Father of your Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts you in all your troubles."
1 Corinthians 1:3-4
His mane sways in the wind as he treads on his territory.
He conquered the land of Kirjath Sepher,
He challenged the children of Anak.
"For the hand of Achsah, I shall prevail.
No longer shall we mention Kirjath Sepher.
"We shall only say Debir, for now we know the oracles of God."
From his side, stands his beloved, Achsah.
Blessed is he who relies on the strength of YHWH,
for he shall be called a mighty man of war,
the mighty Lion of God.
Blessed is he who is betrothed to his wife,
for the Father shall give them the upper and the lower springs of the land.
(based on Joshua 15:13-19)
And the Lord said to me:
"Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals. "
Revelation 5:5

When I lie awake at night
And my heart is gaunt with grief
when my eyes pour out, You are there with me.
You say, "Speak, child, for I Am listening,"
Dear Father, hear me,
My enemy puts me to shame,
I am reminded of my grief and sorrow
My bones are weak, my soul depletes.
O, save me!
But because I have spoken to You, O God,
You have heard me;
You receive my prayer;
You deliver me.
And now it is my enemy who is brought to shame,
Yes, my enemy flees from Your presence.
(based on Psalm 6)
And the Lord said to me:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Me; and My peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
- Philippians 4:6-7
I've held out my hand in the fog, hoping that you would grab it again like the first time.
I've left the door of my heart open, hoping you would walk through it again like the first time.
I've let the coal in the fireplace keep burning, hoping you'd want to stay for warmth like the first time. I've kept the picture of you on the wall, hoping you'd notice that you still hold a space in my heart.
I told myself I would never get a tattoo like how you did,
because I wouldn't be able to stand the pain of a needle.
And what if years later, I didn't like it anymore?
How would I remove it?
What if I wanted another tattoo but in the same place?
Or perhaps you left because the intensity of my fire only grew stronger the longer you stayed.
Alas, when I was with you,
I didn't realize I was getting a tattoo of you on my heart.
And instead of a needle, the memory of you is seared on my mind.
That tattoo of you still hangs on the wall.
The coal keeps burning in the fireplace.
The door is still open.
And I still hold out my hand...
Hoping.
My Lord, do You understand?
And the Lord said to me:
"Jerusalem, Jerusalem...how often I have longed to gather your children together,
as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing."
- Matthew 23:37
"What is grief, if not love persevering?"
Love is patient. It suffers long. It doesn't fade or wash away easily...
It whispers silently, lingering beneath the hurriedness of daily life. It waits quietly for someone to notice it and spend time in Its presence.
"What is your Love, more than any other love?"
My Love is like a quiet walk in a garden with my Friend. It's like sitting quietly on a bench under a tree, while holding hands. It does not have to say much. It need only smile, and look into the eyes of the soul it loves. My Love protects like a hug, it hopes for the best, and it trusts in His strength.
After space and time pass away, Love will always be there.
My Love endures forever...
And the Lord said to me:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."
- 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
What "love" lacks the ability to stay and fight?
Surely not my love.
Unhand me, you demon!
Get behind me, Satan!
For I am my Father's Daughter;
a strong warrior in His army.
I do not merely Desire,
I do not fraternize with deceptive Charm and fleeting Attraction.
I dwell in Love, in the secret place of the Most High.
Under His wings is where I find my resting place.
And the Lord said to me:
"Therefore, since you are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let yourself throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let yourself run with perseverance the race marked out for you."
-Hebrews 12:1
Dear God,
Do You remember when I asked for a "runner";
someone who would run after Your heart?
Because if he ran after you, I know he'd run after me too.
He would pursue,
He would, if he wanted to...
Shortly after this prayer,
I met such a gentleman.
Who loved with all his heart:
He saw me. He spoke to me. He took my hand in his. He embraced me.
or so I thought.
It was actually me
who loved with all my heart:
I let him see me. I let him speak to me. I let him take my hand in his. I let him embrace me.
The silence often filled the air,
And we were strangers,
We returned to our different lives
with only our memories to remind us.
I've learnt that not all men come into my life
to burn everything up in their wake.
Some of them dig holes.
But only because You want to plant flowers.
Of course the mess made me cry,
but now I look upon my beautiful garden.
I can appreciate.
And in that short time, that I wished would be longer,
I became the Runner.
When I'm old and grey,
I hope I can sit with the generation after me,
and tell them fondly about the Runner,
whose feet ran after Your heart.
And the Lord said to me:
"A garden locked is my sister, my bride,
a spring locked, a fountain sealed.
Your shoots are an orchard of pomegranates
with all choicest fruits,
henna with nard,
nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon,
with all trees of frankincense,
myrrh and aloes,
with all choice spices—
a garden fountain, a well of living water,
and flowing streams from Lebanon."
-Song of Solomon 4:11-15
A song for you,
What shall my heart say?
Some sweet nothings between two,
How can I keep my desire at bay?
Will you dance within the sound of my voice,
Will you step in tune to my beat?
Or will you leave and create a void,
Only to destroy my faithful feat?
What genre can I burn for you onto this disk?
I'm not sure how you'll receive this, but I think it's worth the risk.
Let me know, my sweet love, what the tune of your heart is,
I will search far and wide for your heart beat,
Perhaps I can find it.
Listen clearly, dear love, hear the symphony
because I'm not the type to be a phony.
For such love is rare,
and it is not found everywhere.
And the Lord said to me:
"I, the Lord your God am with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves; I will take great delight in you; In My love I will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."
-Zephaniah 3:17
When love comes, Lord,
I imagine it to be like a blue butterfly, fluttering quietly in a large field on a clear sunny day. The birds are chirping and I'm not scared. This little butterfly flies by slowly and gently, beckoning me to follow it. And when I chase after it, it turns to fly back to me. When I stay still, it flies around me, showing me the beautiful patterns of its wings. It seems to sing a song that only I can hear. And when it trusts me, it lands in my open hand so I can admire it. It stays for a while, and my heart jumps in my chest with glee. When it decides to go, I may feel sad for a while, but I will later feel joy that it chose to spend a bit of its time with me.
I will always remember my blue butterfly...
